The laptop was having intermittent issues with not turning on but if I disconnect the power cord, close the top and reopened it and then press start and hold it down for a couple seconds and it would restart. The computer had never been damaged (outer case or water). The one year warranty expired 2 months ago. I have a MacBook Pro 13" Retina display (early 2015) I purchased Feb 25th, 2016. I am hoping they will do the same with my case.Īgain, anyone else have their logic board randomly fail? I did some googling and saw a lawsuit regarding logic board failures in 15'' MacBooks from 2011-13 and that Apple had issued a complementary repair program. I expected this device to last until the end of my college career at the very minimum and the fact that it has broken within under two years is absolutely unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed with Apple since I thought of them as the best of the best with "state-of-the-art" advanced technology. Has anyone else experienced this same logic board failure issue? ![]() ![]() I took it to a reputable repair store (MicroCenter) and they told me it was a logic board failure and would cost close to $700 to fix. About a week ago I went to turn it on and a prohibitory symbol appeared on the screen (A white circle with a slash) and after that it went completely dead. This being the most expensive item I have ever owned I always made sure to take the utmost care when using and handling it. ![]() ![]() I purchased my MacBook Pro 13.3" Retina display brand new in early 2014 before heading off to college.
